Each year, University of Connecticut graduate students compete in a variety of finance related case competitions. The GFA encourages its members to participate in these competitions, and gain hands-on experience to real life financial situations such as, but not limited to: M&A transactions, LBO analysis and stock pitches.


CFA Institute LogoCFA Research Challenge

The University of Connecticut is associated with the CFA Society Hartford. Each year, UConn MBA students participate in the regional CFA Institute Investment Research Challenge. Students write an equity research report on a publicly traded company and present their findings to an expert panel of judges. Local winners are eligible to compete in the Americas competition, and eventually a worldwide final.

National Investment Banking Competition and Conference LogoNational Investment Banking Competition and Conference (NIBC)

The NIBC is an established organization which brings together students from 73 universities and 150 professionals in an annual Case Competition and Conference which run parallel to each other.

The Competition offers Undergraduate and Graduate students from the top universities across North America the opportunity to attain international recognition from their peers and senior industry professionals. Competitors will utilize and develop skills in financial analysis, modeling, and pitching, all of which are essential to a successful career in investment banking.
