Michel Rakotomavo GFA Faculty AdviserMichel Rakotomavo

Michel currently teaches undergraduate, MBA, and MSFRM Finance courses at the University of Connecticut. He is also the Director of the Finance Honors Program. In his roles, Michel coordinates and supervises projects for the MSFRM Program and the Financial Accelerator. In addition, he manages and advises student teams in the Student Managed Fund program. At the graduate level, Michel provides technical workshops on the use of quantitative tools in Finance. Michel’s current research focuses on the role of corporate social responsibility in the Finance industry.

Michel received his Ph.D. from Baruch College, CUNY, where he taught both undergraduate and graduate Finance courses. He started his career and taught in an undergraduate Finance program at the American University of Paris (AUP), where he founded and directed a trading room. He also taught in and directed a joint Executive MS in Finance program with Baruch College. Michel not only chaired the department of International Business Administration at AUP, but he also developed and directed the International Business program at Cottey College (Missouri).

 

Paul Borochin GFA Faculty AdvisorPaul Borochin

Paul is an Assistant Professor of Finance at the University of Connecticut. He received his Ph.D. in Finance from the Fuqua School at Duke University and his B.S. in Finance and Statistics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He teaches a graduate seminar in asset pricing theory and undergraduate courses in corporate finance. He coaches the undergraduate CIBER Case Challenge and ACG Cup MBA case teams.
